Fox Catering Equipment has installed the kitchen facilities for a new Yorkshire restaurant with aspirations to become one of the best steak houses in the north of England.
The Bells Steakhouse in Silkstone was an old public house but has been converted by its new owners into a high class dining establishment.
The restaurant is just around the corner from Fox’s offices and after visiting some of London’s top steak houses for inspiration the owners contracted Fox to design the main kitchen and an adjacent butchery area.
“The owners have challenged themselves to open what they believe will be the finest steak house in the north of England,” explained Fox’s managing director Ben Senior.
“They researched the perfect steak for months, visiting Goodman and Hawksmoor in London where they met and spoke with the management. They are dry ageing the meat in a purpose-built chilled room with hanging rails and a full glass viewing panel that we supplied. Next to this is the butchery we also supplied. All this is mocked up as a shop front within the restaurant.”
An Inka charcoal oven forms the centrepiece of the cookline, with other prime cooking equipment largely supplied by Lincat and FriFri.
The restaurant officially opened last week.
