For the fourth time, Hobart Warewash marketing manager, Chris Birch, is tackling Springboard Charity’s 230-mile Team Velo London to Paris Cycle Challenge in a bid to raise £500 to help disadvantaged young people in hospitality.
Birch, a veteran of the hospitality industry and keen cyclist has completed the challenge three times previously, raising hundreds of pounds for Springboard in the process.
He has set up a Just Giving page for donations here.
He commented: “I have worked in the hospitality industry since the age of 16 and have seen first-hand how vital charities like Springboard are. The Team Velo Challenge does not only help to raise critical funds for vulnerable individuals in hospitality but also provides a fantastic personal challenge and I have been training hard in the hope that this year I can set a new personal best.
Taking place on the 21-23 September 2017, Springboard’s Team Velo Challenge will see teams of all abilities ride from the capital to the Eiffel Tower. Each team will be able to choose their own route from one checkpoint to the next and will be monitored on a tracking device so that support vehicles can provide them with essential energy boosts and additional provisions.
