Four big names took top billing at the 2016 Cedabond Awards last night, held during this year’s CEDA Conference in the Hilton St George’s Park Hotel, Burton on Trent.
Most Improved Cedabond Member was commercial kitchen designer and catering installation specialist Wilcox Burchmore.
Although the company has grown its spend substantially, the buying group feels that even with more and more suppliers coming on board each month the dealer continues to demonstrate “exemplary attention to detail” with regard to reporting and returning information.
Most Improved Supplier (Light Equipment) was First Choice Group, namely the spares division which can supply spare parts for catering equipment from major manufacturers in Europe and North America, as well as difficult to locate spares from the smaller players.
Cedabond reported that the company was rewarded for “taking customer service to a new level, reflected in its large turnover increase”.
Metcalfe Catering Equipment scooped the award for Most Improved Supplier (Heavy Equipment).
The fourth generation family-run food commercial preparation equipment supplier continued to deliver products on time and grow its revenue, despite its factory floor spending nearly 2 months underwater due to torrential rain at the beginning of the year.
The Bob McNab Charity Shield was presented to Kris Brearley, sales director at RH Hall.
An emotional Phil Martin, Cedabond chairman and executive director, presented the award to cancer survivor Brearley, as he recalled them both simultaneously spending time in hospital while being seriously ill.
Brearley is undertaking the 25k Thames Path Challenge in September and has already been pledged around £4,000 for Cancer Research UK.
