Catering equipment spares specialist First Choice Group is now in the midst of relocating to its new multi-million-pound home on Staffordshire’s exclusive Kingswood Lakeside site.
Over the next few weeks the company, recently acquired by global distribution firm Parts Town, will move in department by department, including sales, purchasing, marketing, IT, accounts and returns. The process started last Friday, when staff started to move the warehouse and stock across to the new site.
The intention is for all staff, stock and facilities to be together in First Choice’s new headquarters by the start of business on Tuesday 2 May. From this date onwards the firm’s new address will be: First Choice Group, Blakeney Way, Kingswood Lakeside, Cannock WS11 8LD.
The move is aimed at sustaining capacity growth in spare parts supply and reinforcing its commitment to providing outstanding customer service and support.
With a workforce of more than 150 people, First Choice, established in 1999, has already outgrown its own revenue streams.
MD John Whitehouse, said: “The company has reached a new zenith. The move to Lakeside gives us the chance to raise our levels of professionalism ever higher. The business is, intellectually, on the cusp of going from being mid-size to a highly professional corporate entity.
“Our acquisition by Parts Town, a $300m distribution company, will also help take us to the next level and enhance the customer experience.”
Moving to its new state-of-the-art, three-storey, 100,000ft2 facility is designed to help First Choice Group to identify, attract and exploit new avenues of business. It will also rubber-stamp company ambitions to extend its manufacturer training provision through its specialist training division, Combico UK.
Technical training manager with Combico UK, Martin Dagnall, said: “The new building will allow candidates to train on-site with several fully equipped and functional kitchens boasting the very latest catering equipment and technology. Comprehensive packages will be tailored to provide insight into the range of cooking appliances manufactured by these companies.”
