The First Choice Group has achieved ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification, demonstrating its commitment to continuous improvement.
This follows news of the company’s brand refresh to reflect its growth from a spare parts provider into an all-encompassing foodservice group, including engineering training and food waste management divisions.
For the certification, First Choice thoroughly reviewed its internal processes for a number of months, to create a quality management system that it believes is capable of delivering a service that both meets and strives to exceed its customers’ needs and expectations.
The management system was then independently audited by Mark Taylor from BSI (British Standards Institute). First Choice chose BSI as it believes the institute is among the most respected and reputable management system certification bodies in the world.
First Choice believes this accreditation demonstrates to its customers, competitors and suppliers that it is using industry-respected best practice and shows its continued commitment to providing a service of excellence. Being ISO 9001:2008 certified now means that the company operates using the ISO guidelines and will be regularly reviewed to ensure a consistent approach is maintained.
The firm’s directors stated: “Our success is based on the satisfaction of our customers and the ability to offer a service of excellence. The introduction of our quality management system will play a significant role in ensuring that we are coherent with our overall objectives. Our commitment to our customers will include a constant review of our processes and an introduction of the latest technology to ensure that our processes are efficient and effective, together with a promise to listen to their needs in an ever changing environment.
“We also recognise that our staff are our greatest asset and we will invest in their training and development so they are empowered to achieve their full potential and work towards our company objectives on a united front.”
