Tamar Industries has secured an annual catering equipment maintenance contract with the University of Plymouth.
The company, which is based in the city, will manage the maintenance of all electrical, catering, refrigeration and bar equipment connected to the Students’ Union. This extends to bars, a coffee shop and a canteen located in the heart of the campus.
Simon Atkinson, managing director of Tamar Industries, said the company was thrilled to be chosen by the university having proven its ability in previous contracts.
“It is testament to the successful journey that Tamar Industries has been on with UPSU over several years,” he said. “It indicates the service level that we have provided to the Student Union bars, which was key to being invited to pitch and subsequently being awarded the contract.”
Catering equipment is a rising part of Tamar Industries’ business and the contract with University of Plymouth builds on recent work it has done in this area.
“We value this business tremendously,” said Atkinson. “In the past 18 months we have carried out many installations of catering equipment for many customers’ premises within the education sector, in and around Plymouth, and continue to invest in this area of our business – continuously making investments to ensure the high standard required by this sector.”
Tamar Industries was founded in 2006 and provides business services to organisations in the south west of England.
As well as a catering equipment division, which it launched last year, the company operates units focused on refrigeration, air conditioning, AV systems and CCTV systems.
