A restaurant backed by two England footballers has opened after a kitchen fit-out by Fatboys Catering Equipment.
The Warwickshire-based distributor managed the £180,000 project at La Sala in Woodford Green, Essex, which counts Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling as investors.
Key equipment to be installed at the site include a Robata flame grill from Clay Oven Co, Josper charcoal oven, Imperial open burners, Lainox combi ovens and a Rosinox Tempura fryer.
Fatboys also put in Foster refrigeration, Winterhalter dishwashers and glasswashers, and a complete IMC bar.
La Sala opened over the weekend and had booked 2,000 covers within the first two weeks of its booking system going live. The restaurant claims that all tables for Friday and Saturday nights are booked for the coming three months.
The Woodford Green site is the first La Sala restaurant to be brought to the UK following its Spanish success and claims to offer a “premium social dining experience”. Top entertainment, including local acts, will also perform seven days per week.
La Sala is already been tipped to be a favourite celebrity haunt. Other football-related shareholders include former Spurs midfielder David Bentley and ex-Irish defender Stephen Carr.
