EXCLUSIVE: Bunzl Lockhart to launch wholesale arm for dealers

The Artisan tableware brand will be one of the Lockhart own brands available to dealers through its new Factory1st arm.

Bunzl Lockhart Catering Equipment is launching a dealer redistribution programme for catering equipment distributors wanting to sell its extensive range of own-brand products.

Over the course of the last 3 years Lockhart has developed a wide-ranging portfolio of 17 own-brand ranges covering tableware, glassware, cutlery, chefs’ clothing, cooking appliances and refrigeration, as well as a selection of back of house products. Collectively these represent over 2,000 individual product lines; all marketed with their own unique brand identities.

Lockhart will now be making all 17 brands available to dealers under its ‘Factory1st’ redistribution programme and intends to launch a new Factory1st catalogue containing its entire portfolio of own-brand ranges from 1 June.

Dealers will be able to order copies of the new Factory1st catalogue with the option of personalising the catalogue covers with their own company name, logo and contact information. Deliveries from Factory1st can be for stock or directly to end-customers in unbranded boxes with Factory1st or personalised dealer advice notes.

Paul Nieduszynski, Lockhart’s MD commented: “Factory1st gives us a channel to extend our reach to parts of the market served by high quality local distributors and offers those dealers an opportunity to earn decent margins.

“We see this as a real win-win situation. This launch has been accelerated by a number of dealers contacting us in the last few weeks asking about the possibility of having access to our own-brand product ranges. Many seem frustrated with their existing suppliers, and are excited by the innovative product offering along with the prospect of enhancing their profits.”

With work on the new catalogue already well underway, Lockhart is now keen to make contact with dealers who are interested in learning more about the Factory1st proposition.

Nieduszynski added: “With 17 separate brands successfully established in the market we believe that the time is now right to make these available to interested dealers under the Factory1st re-distribution brand.

“We are currently working on the creation of a comprehensive new Factory1st catalogue that includes all 17 brands and this will be available for dealers to start ordering from 1 June. We would therefore welcome enquiries from dealers interested in joining the Factory1st redistribution programme over the course of the next few weeks.”
