Former Manitowoc sales director Simon Merrick says he is excited to take on the challenge of running Hobart’s UK cooking equipment business after recently stepping into the shoes of Ian Garner, who retired at the end of 2013.
Merrick takes on the post of director of Hobart Cooking Solutions in a role that will see him responsible for developing brands such as Bonnet, MBM, Elro and Wolf.
The 41-year-old said he is relishing the opportunity to take the Peterborough-based business forward.
“I am delighted to have joined such a major kitchen equipment company as Hobart and am looking forward to working with my new team to address the challenges ahead,” he commented.
“My initial focus will be on maintaining the growth of the cooking business and building on Hobart’s unrivalled reputation among caterers for technological development, product innovation and equipment quality.”
Merrick has extensive experience of the catering equipment industry having most previously served as Manitowoc’s sales director for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Before that he spent eight years working for Manitowoc brand Merrychef where he was business development director for the UK and Ireland.
