Oldham-based Euro Catering Parts has commented for the first time on its new management structure, following a change in senior personnel.
In a statement, the company told Catering Insight: “The recent announcement that Euro Catering Parts is now under new management has come as no surprise to those within the industry. Having struggled for several years returning disappointing results, MD Nick Hughes has been replaced by local entrepreneur Joe Murray; who took over the company at the end of January 2015."
Murray, who has business interests throughout the North West, is the CEO and founder of the Precision 21 Group; a group of companies involved in engineering and instrumentation. A chartered mechanical engineer by profession, Murray has a track record of business turnarounds and was keen to take on the challenge.
“I was really just looking to acquire the factory to expand my existing businesses, however when the opportunity to acquire the business presented itself, it seemed like an interesting venture,” he said.
“Euro Catering Parts at its core is a great business with some fantastic loyal customers. The staff are excellent, keen and have been very positive about the changes. My first action has been to bring back Neil Donohue as operations director, who will be responsible for day to day matters and together we intend to get the business back to being one of the market leaders.”
Donohue commented: “It will not be easy and it will take some time to sort things out, but the core business is good and I’m really looking forward to beginning the turnaround. We have the backing of the Precision 21 Group and we have already identified new opportunities.”
The future of Euro Catering Parts looks bright under the new management and it intends to return to its position as one of the UK’s premier suppliers of commercial catering equipment spare parts.
