Dealer completes royal school appointment

C&C Catering Equipment has accomplished a £474,000 school project within a tight summer timeframe.

The King’s College School in Wimbledon appointed the dealer in June to install new catering facilities.

Founded in 1829, the independent school caters for 1,200 pupils including boys aged 7-18 and girls aged 16-18, and prides itself on being one of the most academically successful schools in the world. For this reason, it required the highest standard of catering equipment and facilities to reflect its impressive reputation.

Working with main contractor 8 Build, C&C was first tasked with cleaning and storing away second-hand equipment at the scheme. Following this, equipment was installed including the canopies, cold-rooms, warewash and counters. Brands included Proline, IMC, Winterhalter, Foster, Rational and Falcon.

Due to King’s College School completing refurbishment works over the summer break, the distributor was presented with a swift time scale. With only 12 weeks to complete the works, the team committed to working at weekends and evenings in order to successfully deliver the project on time for the beginning of the school term.

Installations director Mark Roxburgh commented: “The location of the school made some aspects of the project quite difficult, however we were determined to handover the scheme on time without comprising any standards. I’m really pleased with the finished result and delighted we have achieved such a great finish for this prestigious school.”
