C&C has outfitted a £900,000+ kitchen at accountant Ernst & Young’s premises in Canary Wharf, London.
With staff dining facilities set over four floors, C&C worked with builders Como and consultants Andrew Humble and Matt Scottow at Humble Arnold Associates to create a plant room on the 25th floor, a freezer/cold room and storage/dry store area on the 22nd floor, a main kitchen, pantries, and a separate auditorium pantry on the 20th floor, and front of house counters and a back of house dishwash area on the 19th floor.
Soon after project director Paul Parry won the contract in late 2014, a completion date of 22 June 2015 was set. However this was challenged from the start due to factors surrounding the high security required at Canary Wharf.
C&C completed a 5 week install in a 3 week window by organising seven transport wagons to deliver as much equipment as possible over a single day to two of the floors, and proceeded to work every day to ensure a punctual handover.
C&C’s Mark Roxburgh, senior project manager, stated: “This was a challenging job due to many security restraints at Canary Wharf, but the end result is incredible.”
