A new care home with a kitchen installed by Court Catering Equipment has been officially opened by Sir Nicholas Winton.
The Abbyfield Societies Maidenhead Branch features 30 rooms in total and a range of kitchen services put in place by London-based Court.
In conjunction with Eton-based Corrigan-Sundy-Kilaiditi Architects, Court designed, supplied and installed the new kitchen facilities. Additionally, it was asked to design and fit the laundry facilities at the residence.
David Cager, chairman of The Abbyfields, hailed Court’s role in the opening of the home. “Courts contribution was invaluable in both the design and liaison with the all the other contractors involved in bringing to fruition Sir Nicholas’s dream of having a third care home within the Society.”
Sir Nicholas Winton celebrated his 103rd birthday earlier this week. The British humanitarian is best known for arranging the rescue of almost 700 children from Czechoslovakia on the eve of the Second World War.
