Several Rick Stein chefs utilised Cooktek induction technology during a recent Chefs’ Forum-supported event at Truro College’s Spires restaurant.
The MC 2502f double induction hob on display uses 2.5kW of power and comes with a 5 year warranty as standard.
The event launched the Rick Stein Academy at Truro and Penwith College, an initiative which the Chefs’ Forum collaborated on, and featured a cookery masterclass by Rick’s son, Jack Stein, as well as demonstrations and talks from other Stein chefs including Nick Evans, head chef at St Petroc’s Bistro, and Stuart Pate, head pastry chef.
Jack Stein used the Cooktek hob to showcase the Rick Stein menu, and cooked a beurre blanc with tomato concasse, while Nick Evans prepared a pan seared stuffed mackerel.
The Cooktek units are wholly manufactured in Chicago, USA, and are supplied to the UK market by Swindon-based MCS Technical Products.
