The training will provide a professional course for engineers to develop their skills and learn about the company’s eikon products, a range of rapid and accelerated cook speed ovens.

This particular course, held at the First Choice headquarters within the Combico training facility, will cover all procedures required for technicians and engineers to be competent and work safely when carrying out maintenance work on microwave ovens.

Taking place across one day, candidates who take part will receive training on a repair and service level, which will include microwave technological understanding, safety requirements and an operational overview.

Combico technical training manager at First Choice Group, Martin Dagnall, said: “The Merrychef training course is a fantastic opportunity for technicians and engineers to gain new skills, or to simply improve on their existing skills, on microwave oven repairs and servicing.”

He added: “There is a reluctance from some engineers to work on microwave ovens due to the internal high voltage capacitance storage. However, I believe attendance to this course will give the engineer not only the knowledge and practical skills required for working safely on microwave appliances, but also the confidence they need to alleviate any previous concerns.”

Meanwhile, Combico yesterday held a BIM Information Day at its training facility, providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of the key issues around Building Information Modelling.

Combico UK offers several technical training courses and assessments on commercial catering equipment, gas training and electrical competency training for engineers and technicians.

The facility is based at the First Choice Group site located in Cannock, Staffordshire, and has a team of training experts and professionals who boast many years of experience within the commercial catering equipment industry.
