Clingfilm dispenser manufacturer changes its name

Wrap Film Systems is now called Melitta UK, but the Wrapmaster brand name remains.

From 1 January 2018, Wrap Film Systems was renamed Melitta UK. The name change is in response to Cofresco Frischhalteprodukte – a subsidiary company of Melitta – integrating the business following the purchase of Wrap Film Systems in October 2015.

The business will comprise of three business divisions, Melitta UK (Retail/C&C, Bacofoil and Melitta), Cofresco Foodservice (Wrapmaster and Caterwrap) and Cofresco Operations UK.

Following the successful acquisition, Melitta has set the goal of expanding the Melitta brand and its portfolio within the UK market, as well as focusing on developing Cofresco’s international foodservice arm.

The Global Foodservice division – which includes the Wrapmaster film dispenser brand – will be led by Adrian Brown, MD, Cofresco Foodservice.

Commenting on the rename, the CEO of Cofresco Frischhalteprodukte, Pieter van Halewijn said: “We are delighted to maintain our leading position in the UK foodservice market and excited to continue our global expansion, as well as the development of our Wrapmaster brand through Cofresco Foodservice.”

The Wrapmaster range can dispense catering clingfilm, aluminium foil, and baking parchment.

Brown commented: “As part of Cofresco Foodservice – and under Melitta UK – Wrapmaster remains the number one brand. This new focus for 2018 will mean that now more than ever we will be able to ensure our dispensers remain at the forefront of innovation, as well as setting a world standard in efficient, safe and sustainable dispensing for chefs.”

Paul Feery – formerly commercial director of Wrap Film Systems – is now country manager UK and Ireland, and will lead Melitta UK, the retail division, part of Melitta Sales Europe.

Remko Tetenburg, CEO of Melitta Sales Europe added: “We welcome the Wrap Film Systems retail team to Melitta Sales Europe and look forward to strengthening our position in UK and Ireland as well as exploring new opportunities from working together.”

The name change is said not to have any impact upon employees who work at the Telford office, manufacturing facility and warehouse.
