CESA reinforces Catering Insight Awards training recognition

CESA has once again signed up to back the supplier ‘Training & Education’ accolade at the Catering Insight Awards 2018, in association with Atosa.

This category is aimed at recognising those manufacturers and suppliers who have invested extensively in education programmes for the benefit of the industry over the past 12 months. This could be for their own staff, dealers or the wider sector.

It is one of 15 trophies which will be presented during the gala ceremony at London’s glitzy Bloomsbury Ballroom on Thursday 29 November.

Chair of CESA, Glenn Roberts, detailed why the association has joined the sponsor roster for the third year in succession: “The Awards are a real focal point for the catering equipment industry and, in recognising excellence, they promote the values CESA holds dear. They are also a networking event, of course, and like the best networking events there are solid reasons to be there. Plus, each year the organisers find new and often iconic venues, which adds to the enjoyment factor considerably!”

He further revealed: “2018 is our 80th anniversary and the continuing sponsorship of the Award demonstrates our commitment to training and education.

“Our remit is to influence, inform and involve and a key strategy is upskilling the industry through training and education initiatives, such as CFSP.

“We recently launched the PFS (Principals of Foodservice) scheme, which offers newcomers the basic knowledge they need to work safely and effectively in the foodservice industry. Training and education are essential for the catering equipment industry, not only to meet the challenge of skills shortages but also to help us meet the needs of our customers.

“The more profile we can give to the importance of training and education, the better. That’s why we sponsor this award.”

Roberts believes that the Catering Insight Awards: “give profile to the great work that the supply chain is doing – whether that’s a manufacturer developing a new technology, a kitchen house fulfilling a brilliant concept, or a supplier delivering a training scheme that really makes a difference.  By raising awareness of these achievements, the Awards can inspire the people who will be winning next year and the year after!”

Once again the winners will be entirely decided by the industry itself, with senior dealer executives voting on the supplier categories and vice versa for the distributor accolades.
