CESA is to once again back the supplier Training & Education category at this year’s Catering Insight Awards.

This means that all eight sponsors from the 2016 event have immediately signed up to back this year’s gala evening, which demonstrates how valuable the industry finds the awards.

According to Keith Warren, CESA director: “Last year’s Catering Insight Awards were a great opportunity to network with the great and the good of the industry – manufacturers, dealers, designers, consultants, associations… it was a veritable ‘who’s who’ of the catering equipment world.

“The awards are reflective of CESA’s objective of uniting the industry. It’s a truly worthwhile event and its timing, in the run-up to Christmas, gives us an opportunity to celebrate the year with our peers. This year we’re expecting more of the same.”

The 2017 event will be taking place at the stunning 8 Northumberland Avenue in the heart of central London on Thursday 23 November.

Once again the industry itself will be voting on the outcome of the 15 categories, with distributors deciding the supplier winners and suppliers choosing the distributor victors.

The CESA-backed supplier Training & Education award particularly honours those manufacturers who have invested extensively in education programmes for the benefit of the industry over the past 12 months. This could be for their own staff, dealers or the wider sector.

Training is particularly close to CESA’s heart, as Warren detailed: “The skills shortage and the need for training are huge challenges facing not just our industry, but everyone. The Catering Insight Training Award is part of CESA’s campaign to shine a light on the issue. It gives us marketing opportunities to raise the profile of training and to focus industry attention on training initiatives, such as CFSP.

“The Training Award also helps underline the business benefits that training can bring to an organisation. It has commercial value in developing knowledge and expertise, shows commitment to the employee and helps to retain staff.”
