CES creates luxury for £500,000 hotel project

CES fitted the Montcalm Royal London House hotel with Charvet’s One Series cooking suite.

Peterborough-based distributor Catering Equipment Solutions (CES) has completed the design development, installation and fit out of the main kitchen, bars and back of house facilities for the Montcalm Royal London House hotel.

The venue, owned by Montcalm Luxury Hotels, is the former Royal Mail head office in London. The operator wanted to transform this listed building into a distinctive new hotel offer, with 253 tech-ready rooms.

The renovation involved creating the Burdock café bar and restaurant on the ground floor, while the hotel’s own pub and micro-brewery, The Long Arm, sits adjacent, with an entrance on Worship Street.

The catering equipment package for the project was valued at £500,000. CES MD Anna McNamara explained: “We were working in conjunction with the building contractor, architect, food and beverage consultants as well as the client.

“The hotel very much has its own unique style and there were late changes to the design concept that required careful managing to ensure we achieved the desired standard of finish.

“Charvet’s One Series was chosen for the cookline because it is good quality equipment with the range of cooking options needed for this site. We have also found Charvet reliable in use, and it looks good.”
