Last Friday’s Cedabond Heavy Equipment Forum, which was the second day of a double event held jointly with CESA, has received glowing praise from participants.
The event, held at Whittlebury Hall, near Silverstone, saw 15 ‘round robin’ half an hour meetings between Cedabond member distributors and suppliers over the course of the day.
Suppliers attending the event comprised Hobart, Gram, Foster, Valera, RH Hall, Instanta, Linda Lewis, CEP, Maidaid/Halcyon, Corsair, Precision Refrigeration, Induced Energy, Sammic and the Parry Group.
One attendee, Ian Berrow, MD of Cedabond member C&C Catering Engineers, commented: “This was a really interesting and informative day spent catching up with existing suppliers, finding out what’s new in the world of equipment and, perhaps most importantly of all, getting more acquainted with those suppliers that we don’t currently deal with very much – something that may well now change.
“The venue was excellent and the format very well organised, which made it very simple to move from meeting to meeting.”
Supplier representatives, such as Gary Childs from Foster Refrigerator’s project team were equally enthusiastic. “It’s been a terrific event for us. I was really pleased with the turnout and the quality of the members’ representatives that we saw,” he said.
This point was echoed by Pratap Gadhvi, MD at Valera, who commented: “It was great to be able to talk product specifics with sales teams rather than talking strategy with managing directors and commercial directors.”
Cedabond’s executive director Phil Martin summarised: “In conjunction with CESA, Cedabond developed the event especially for our suppliers and member distributors’ sales teams.
“The day is focused on bringing members’ sales teams up to speed on the very latest developments from 15 leading heavy equipment suppliers. In just one day they get in-depth interactive presentations and product training as well as finding out about new features and benefits for the end user including new product developments, leading edge technology, service and technical support and environmental issues.”
The event followed the news that two service and maintenance firms have joined Cedabond as members: Stevenage-based Serviceline and Marigolds of Colchester, Essex.
