CEDA whittles down shortlist of rising stars

CEDA has unveiled the shortlist for its 2016 Rising Star Award, the second year it has run the category as part of its Grand Prix Awards.

The nominees are Andrew Smith from Scomac Catering Equipment, Liviana Wijaya from CNG Foodservice Equipment, Callum Kennedy from GastroNorth and Stephen Ryan from Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment.

The candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising CEDA Grand Prix Award judges Brian Booth and John Savage, and also Steve Hemsil, national sales manager for Manitowoc Foodservice, representing CEDA’s Platinum Partners, who are funding a £2,500 bursary for the CEDA Rising Star 2016 winner.

Adam Mason, CEDA director general, commented: “We are delighted to have had so many really strong entries from outstanding talent in our sector and have got to an outstanding shortlist of four very significant young people who are already making their mark in our industry.

“The three judges have a tough job in deciding on the overall winner and runner-up, with the announcement to be made at the CEDA Conference Grand Prix Awards on 15 April.”
