CEDA builds bridges with catering trade bodies

CEDA is planning to strengthen ties with end-user trade associations from the wider catering industry in a move it hopes will lead to greater benefits for its distributor members.

The organisation has already started arranging its 2015 annual conference in Oxfordshire and new director general, Adam Mason, confirmed the conference will reach out to more associations.

“In 2015 CEDA will use its marketing activities to reach out to end-users across multiple sectors in food service and that’s why we will host more associations that represent their interests at the CEDA 2015 Conference,” he said.

Representatives from the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA), Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE), National Association of Care Catering (NACC), National Specialist Contractors Council (NSCC), British Sandwich Association (BSA) and the Nationwide Catering Association (NCA) have already confirmed their attendance.

More will be announced in due course, said Mason, adding that he expects each party to benefit from a closer relationship with CEDA and its distributors.

“We are also using the conference to launch a raft of new services that will add real value to catering equipment distributors, related service companies and equipment manufacturers,” he said. “Our conference marketing will be used to ensure that both members and non-members are aware of the significant benefits of attending.”

Next year’s CEDA Conference will again feature the Grand Prix Awards. Applications for CEDA distributors looking to enter their best projects open on 1 December 2014.
