Contract Catering Equipment’s (CCE) owner Ray Costello has picked up a signed chef’s jacket from one of London’s top chefs after winning a charity auction at Hotelympia.
Costello’s sealed auction bid of £500 landed him a jacket autographed by Eric Chavot and his kitchen brigade from Brasserie Chavot, a restaurant that only opened in Mayfair last year but already has a Michelin star.
The auction was held by Adande, with the donation going to The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ ‘Chef’s Adopt a School’ charity.
It sends chefs into schools to deliver food education to children, covering taste, healthy eating, nutrition and hygiene as well as front-of-house skills.
Costello is well known to the team at Chavot — his company installed the new kitchen before the restaurant opened last year and currently looks after its maintenance needs.
