Once kit is sold, it is not the end of the manufacturer or supplier’s responsibilities to the distributor or end-user. This Catering Insight Supplier Service & Support category honours those companies which are investing seriously in after-sales and warranty support, and have delivered a superior service.
Therefore the shortlist is:
Caterparts has increased its internal and external sales staff in 2016 to improve the experience it offers customers. This includes the introduction of a parts identification service that gives dealers the option to send in parts, photos, drawings or serial numbers that the team will verify and locate. The company has taken the decision to operate a fully open live website, allowing distributors to freely browse and purchase parts, as well as stock availability, without being restricted by login areas.
Cuisinequip has invested heavily in driving sales through the distributor channel through a strategy of increased marketing and promotional support. This has led to it expanding the number of exhibitions it attends and adopting targeted advertising, PR and social media campaigns. The introduction of Locher induction and Bottene fresh pasta making machines further underline its determination to support distributors with equipment and brands not already available in the UK.
First Choice Group
With First Choice’s number one priority being customer service, it is no wonder its turnover increases markedly, year on year. In fact, it will be moving into bigger premises next spring, as it has to double its spares capacity. Its refrigeration division has grown immensely, including the addition of varied delivery options, such as to engineers’ vans. It has also increased the scope of its Combico engineering training division to better support the service departments of its dealer customers.
In the past 12 months, Linda Lewis Kitchens has really made service and support a focus for its business. Opening up another service premises in Penrhynside to add to its HQ service division based in Oldham, the supplier has increased its geographical area for repair and installation work and also uses this to generate more leads for dealers. Furthermore, the Welsh division has become part of the service back-up team supporting the growth of Italian dishwasher manufacturer, Krupps, in the UK.
RH Hall has invested tremendously in its fabrications division this year to provide a rapid bespoke service for its dealers, including providing a free CAD design service. Its ‘one stop shop’ philosophy extends to training its staff to offer plumbing of sinks and waste systems as well as electrical services so that kit is ready to install onsite. Additionally, the supplier is offering a ‘best ever’ 3 year warranty on the Sharp R21AT microwave’s magnetron, following an enhanced Maestrowave MW10 warranty.
The electronic vote to choose the winner will open on Monday 31 October, when senior distributor representatives will receive an e-mail invite to participate.
