Past employers have included Hobart, where he won the Chairman’s Cup for being the top salesman out of a 45-strong team, Classeq and K&M Equipment.

Since joining DC Products in Somerset, he has grown regional sales and contributed to putting the company on track to achieve sales of more than £1.2m this year.

Bob Wood, director at DC, said his colleague had given tremendous service to the industry.

“Mike’s in-depth knowledge and experience of our products and the warewashing industry as a whole has proved invaluable for increasing business,” he said. “His professional, friendly and trustworthy nature, coupled with his ability to always go that extra step for our customers, have made him a very successful salesman and one that will be sorely missed.”

Davis, meanwhile, said he would be leaving behind plenty of happy memories. “I have really enjoyed working for everyone at DC and being part of a very successful growing company. I am sure they will go from strength to strength,” he said.

Once his last working day is done at the end of March, Davis said he plans to travel the world with wife Jenny, visiting friends in various countries and devoting more time to playing the guitar.

DC said it is now in the process of recruiting a business development manager to cover the role that Davis vacates.
