Carpigiani corners the countertop gelato market

Carpigiani has added a countertop unit to its XVL range.

Carpigiani has launched the XVL countertop range of ice cream machines in the UK, following on from the introduction of the main XVL range in 2014.

The new line has been developed using many of the key features of the existing XVL appliances, creating what is designed to be a compact soft serve solution.

Representing the smallest unit in the XVL series; the countertop model is still able to produce up to 310 x 75g portions per hour.

In addition it features a tank agitator to prevent stratification and reduce foam by maintaining a fluid consistency, a feature now standard across all of the Carpigiani soft serve range.

An adjustable dispense rate allows the unit to meet specific needs, while a self-closing dispenser is said to automatically stop the flow of ice cream when released.

Optional single portion kits and mixers with disposable spoons allow the user to create different ice cream-based desserts from the one machine.

A dry filling system enables the operator to prepare the mix directly in the hopper by adding water and dry mix.

A touch panel screen delivers instructions, while menus are able to guide the user through data readings and diagnostics when required.

Scott Duncan, sales director at Carpigiani UK said: “Since launching the XVL floor standing range back in 2014, we have seen a fantastic demand for the models in the range.

“Now, in a bid to bring wonderful ice cream to those with limited space, the countertop models take many of the features of the larger appliances, placing them into a compact, space saving design.”
