Capital Cooling adds new sales director

Capital Cooling Refrigeration has welcomed Dave McKenzie to its board.

Capital Cooling Refrigeration has appointed Dave McKenzie as sales director.

This marks the next step in the refrigerator supplier’s recovery, following its rescue from insolvency at the end of last year. At that time, auditor KPMG brokered a pre-pack administration deal for private investor Rcapital to buy the business for £300,000.

McKenzie is said to bring a wealth of business experience to the new-look Capital Cooling board where he joins James Anderson, Graham Frew and Sharron Buchanan at the helm of the Broxburn-based firm.

For the last 10 years he has been providing business consultancy services to a number of Scottish companies with his primary focus being sustainable business growth. This experience will prove exceptionally valuable as he aims to drive forward the Capital Cooling brand from a sales perspective.

In addition to his consultancy work, McKenzie has held multiple non-exec roles over the last decade while he also held the vice chair position within the Scottish Sports Futures charity. Prior to this, he was CEO of Commsworld, Scotland’s largest independent voice and data convergence company, where he oversaw a rise in revenue from £400k to more than £8m during his 13-year tenure.

Capital’s MD James Anderson said: “Dave shares a passion in exceeding customers’ expectations, this aligned with our market leading portfolio will ensure Capital Cooling Refrigeration remains the supplier of choice. We welcome Dave on board as a valued member of our sales team.”

McKenzie himself commented: “We are already very lucky to work with some of the UK’s leading retail, leisure and hospitality chains and I look forward to assisting with the development of these partnerships in addition to growing the customer base through new routes to market.”
