British kitchen canopy manufacturer Mansfield Pollard has reported growing interest in its product range from the Middle East.
The company said it has seen a spike in orders from Dubai in particular following the resurgence of the emirate’s restaurant scene.
It estimates that the Cantech canopies it supplies are now installed in almost two-thirds of the 250 fast food bars and fine dining restaurants contained in the sprawling Dubai Mall and neighbouring Burj Khalifa building alone.
Mansfield Pollard’s managing director, Joanna Robinson, who has just returned from a visit to Dubai, is confident that exports will rocket in the coming months due to diversity of their product range and the growing reputation of Cantech.
She said attention to detail in any establishment must include air quality for the kitchen staff — and said Mansfield Pollard was well placed to help deliver that.
“Removing contaminants and providing cooling is not only a statutory legal requirement but creates a good working environment,” she said.
“This has been common practise for our design engineers, however moving forward we can now couple the canopy to a fully automatic heat recovery air handling unit, which reclaims the energy from the extracted air and returns it into either the supply air or hot water storage cylinder. The result has huge energy benefits for any establishment with payback periods of typically five to seven years.”
Mansfield Pollard manufactures kitchen canopies and ventilation systems at its base in Bradford, Yorkshire.
