BREAKING NEWS: Pentland Wholesale buys out CEP

MATR3844

Pentland Wholesale has completed the acquisition of supplier Catering Equipment Professional (CEP).

Both Pentland Wholesale and CEP are well-known suppliers in the catering and refrigeration equipment sectors and they believe their joining of forces brings a wide variety of benefits to distributor customers and the industry as a whole.

David Jones, MD of CEP said: “Since its creation in 2008, CEP has seen huge success and has grown into one of the UK’s leading catering equipment suppliers. Joining forces with Pentland Wholesale opens up new doors for CEP’s continued development, providing the CEP team with facilities and capabilities that will enhance the service we provide to our clients.”

He continued: “Pentland Wholesale has one of the largest stock facilities in the UK and has developed strong relationships with manufacturing partners around the world. We’re excited to offer our customers an even stronger UK stock-holding and distribution infrastructure, enabling us to continue delivering our products in the most competitive and timely manner.”

CEP provides its brands Cook Professional, Dishwasher Professional and Refrigeration Professional along with the Libero theatre cooking equipment to the UK market.

Maxine Mason, commercial director at Pentland Wholesale said: “We’re very excited to welcome CEP into the Pentland family. CEP’s range of premium catering products is the perfect complement to our offering and this new venture will enable us to expand further on the types and variety of products that we can offer to our customers.”

CEP will continue to operate as a separate business after the acquisition and will retain Jones to head up the firm.

Mason added: “The operations of CEP won’t be affected by this acquisition and customers and suppliers won’t see any disruption to their usual day-to-day business. We look forward to developing both companies side-by-side and to forming a close working relationship with the CEP team, enabling us to bring a wide variety of benefits to both businesses’ clients in the months and years ahead.”

Not quite sure where purchasing an end user distributor fits with a trade wholesale distribution operation!? unless of course they intend selling directly against their current distributors…………

I have the utmost respect for David, his integrity and commitment towards distributors. Cannot say I hold the same regard for someone who feels the need to make ill-informed comments when hidden behind an pseudonym, an egotistical one at that.

Did I ever say otherwise!! and as for the pseudonym its not a name I gave myself and all who know me would tell you how wrong you are LOL but if you want to start making it personal Simon it tells you a lot about the person, my comments were totally about business not individuals!

I seem to have rattled a few cages then I see……………….the CEP distributor template?? I think your forgetting your now reporting to new corporate HQ one that traditionally sells “wholesale” to distributors. I think if Falcon/Foster/Hobart/Rational was to buy a dealer out there might also be a few raised eyebrows, time will tell if people start loosing quotes to you if your supplying Pentland products cheaper than they can.

as for the Doom & Gloom claim, that’s unfair seeing as I think Pentland is a fantastic company with good management, good products a dynamic marketing department (of late) and the financial security behind it that few in this trade can claim nowadays, it was just an observation that seems to have rattled you

    Dear Mr Oracle

Would it be easier if you called Me 01487 710758, as you still don’t quite understand who or what CEP are.

CEP is a group of brands and not a dealer!

It would be great to hear from you
