Nick McDonald is stepping down as the MD of British catering equipment manufacturer Lincat after nearly 4 years at the helm.
He originally joined Lincat as marketing manager in 1996, then being promoted to marketing and export director in 2000 and to MD in 2013.
During his time, McDonald has seen the company’s turnover dramatically increase, and the product range expanded from 250 items to more than 600 today. He had an instrumental role in the launch of new product ranges, namely, the heavy duty Opus 800 range and the new series of FilterFlow automatic fill water boilers.
Chris Jones is now taking over the MD role. He joined Lincat in 2010 as regional sales manager and was subsequently promoted to national account manager in 2013 and to the director of distributor sales in 2016.
McDonald said: “with the success of the recently introduced products and programmes, I feel the company is doing well and the groundwork is laid for a great future. I thank my colleagues for their support and wish Chris every success.”
Jones responded: “It’s an honour to be at the helm of this great company. I thank Nick for everything he has done for Lincat. My aim is to continue to grow sales and profits through a combination of new product development, expansion of markets and increase in market share.”
Najib Maalouf, European MD of Middleby Corporation, Lincat’s parent company, commented: “I am pleased with Lincat’s performance since its acquisition in 2011, and I thank Nick for his leadership the last 3 years. Middleby continues to invest in Lincat and looks forward to seeing it reach new heights with Chris in whom I have great confidence.”
