BREAKING NEWS: Glenn Roberts switches Brita for Polar mission

Glenn Roberts will now be Polar Refrigeration’s global head of business.

Well-known industry figure Glenn Roberts has swapped Brita Professional for the Nisbets group, as he has been appointed as the Polar Refrigeration brand global head of business.

The Polar brand has found success in the UK, Ireland, and across mainland Europe, Australia and New Zealand. This new role will see Roberts look to further develop the brand in its current territories, whilst identifying new market opportunities.

Roberts brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality industry and more specifically the refrigeration market, as he previously spent 14 years at Hoshizaki Gram, latterly as MD.

He joined Brita in October 2016 to help oversee the commercial side of the water filtration business, which Catering Insight understands posted record growth last year. Brita has not yet confirmed a replacement for Roberts.

Klaus Goeldenbot, group CEO of Nisbets commented: “I am delighted we have someone of Glenn’s stature joining Polar Refrigeration which is part of the successful Uropa Brands wholesale catering equipment business. I wish him every success in his new role, taking Polar to the next stage in its development.”

Roberts told Catering Insight: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge and opportunity to grow Polar further, and enable further benefits to the wider and international market.

“I hope to help continue the terrific and swift growth the team have worked so hard to create over the last decade.”

He also currently holds the post of CESA chairman.

Along with Buffalo, Olympia and Vogue, Polar is one of Uropa’s leading brands, offering a range of commercial refrigerators, freezers, blast chillers and ice makers, in addition to the recently launched coldrooms, all of which have been designed to meet the requirements of a busy commercial kitchen.

Roberts will be based at the National Catering Equipment Centre (NCEC) in Bristol which showcases Uropa brands and products.
