Bidvest Foodservice has opened up a four-room demo centre in Yorkshire to promote the range of sector-specific solutions it offers, including new heavy duty catering equipment.

The company has created a kitchen, bar and deli set-up at the Wakefield site and is encouraging local caterers to sample the services that it can provide. Bidvest hopes to attract everything from hotels and restaurants to cafes and schools to the facility.

The kitchen will be used to promote products and keep customers informed of new trends, as well as give them a chance to see techniques used by chefs, while the bar will serve up beers, wines and spirits brand in a real bar environment while.

The deli area will host demonstration sessions for customers, while a separate non-food catering suite will exhibit all of the other products from Bidvest’s portfolio. This includes kitchen equipment, catering appliances, tableware and cleaning solutions.

General manager Martin Cook, told the Wakefield Express, it could become a major sales tool for the firm. “Within the Customer Experience Centre, the key message of excellent service will manifest itself through the products we display and the equipment we champion.”

The facility opened its doors at the start of this month.
