With the coffee shop industry flourishing, coffee and other hot beverage machines are pretty much a prerequisite for many foodservice area installations.

However, the dealer market hasn’t necessarily picked up the lion’s share of this business, with many end users preferring to go direct to specialist suppliers.

So what would dealers have to offer, if they were involved more in this part of a specification?

Some manufacturers are actively involved with distributors, such as Uxbridge-based WMF.

MD, Marcus Gansloser, commented: “Dealers are really well placed to offer the end user a full offering, which also includes coffee machines.”

One dealer WMF has worked with is Aggora, which sold the supplier’s equipment into Heathrow T5.

The company provides full training for all its distributors, with Gansloser detailing: “It is essential that distributors understand the specifications of the machine with regards to cups per day, electrical and water requirements, as well as dimensions.

“Without these skillsets it would not be possible to ensure the end customer is purchasing the correct machine.
